THE DIFFICULT SECOND ALBUM..??!! Yes, but well worth a listen ;-) The band's first album, The Wrong Type Of Rain, was released to critical acclaim in 1998, drawing parallels with 'the rootsier recordings of Lindisfarne' (Folk Buzz) and Jethro Tull. Titled The Dark Side Of The Dune, it features original songs, traditional and original instrumentals and a Phil Beer cover (multi-instrumentalist of acoustic duo Show Of Hands...voted Best Live Act in BBC Folk On 2 Awards 2004, nominated for an award each year since then, with Phil himself nominated for Best Folk Musician in the 2009 awards). The release is now available and you can hear a 30 second sample of each track by clicking here. In the meantime, here is a sample of the excellent artwork by Dave Grimbleby which forms the front cover..... |
