CLEVERDONS...of the world unite!

Ian writes....

"Over the last few years, my site and my music has attracted several visits from fellow Cleverdons around the world, as far away as the USA and Australia! From this I have found out many interesting facts about the family, some of which appear below.

  • the name 'Cleverdon' is thought to mean 'farmer of the clover down'
  • the origins of the name herald from Devon, England...this meant that I just had to visit to investigate the ancestry!

The photo to the left is of the Cleverdon family crest, which is to be found in St Mary's Church, Kentisbeare, Devon. It has been adapted as the logo for a firm of estate agents based in Crediton, Devon called....yes, you've guessed it....Cleverdons Estate Agency! Here are some photos of both the church and the estate agency...."
